A recall of more than 82,000 Harley-Davidson motorcycles

T
he National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced that Harley-Davidson Motor Company is recalling over 82,000 motorcycles because of a problem that raises the risk of an accident. In a recall notice dated June 12, the federal agency stated that on some Softail motorcycles manufactured between 2018 and 2024, the mounting tab on the rear shock pre-load adjuster may break, allowing the rear shock absorber adjuster to harm the rear tire and result in a drop in tire pressure.

According to officials, there may be a crash or fatality as a result of the potential failure. As of early June, Harley-Davison has not reported any fatalities or injuries related to the problem.

It will be necessary to perform a new remedy for certain vehicles that were previously repaired under recall 23V591.
