What is Liquid Glass ? What People says about it !

A
lthough it made a big premiere this week, Apple's Liquid Glass might not be for everyone.

When the "beautiful, new" software design for iOS 26 was revealed at the 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference, an annual information technology conference organized by the tech giant, some social media users were eager to criticize or make fun of it.

Vice President of Human Interface Design Alan Dye referred to the release of iOS 26 as the company's "broadest software design update ever."

"Translucent material [that] reflects and refracts its surroundings, while dynamically transforming to help bring greater focus to content," according to a news release from Apple, was used in the design, which was named Liquid Glass.

What is Liquid Glass

Apple CEO Tim Cook calls the new software design, or aesthetic, Liquid Glass, "Expressive." Wonderful. yet instantly recognizable."

Apple claims that the "look" rapidly identifies programs and system experiences and enhances their expressiveness and enjoyment.

It is translucent, acts like glass in the real world, and intelligently adjusts its color to light and dark conditions based on the content around it.

Unlike earlier revisions, the new design will work with iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, tvOS 26, and watchOS 26.

What People Says about Liquid Glass

While many people admire the concept of Apple's "Liquid Glass," they are less fond of the way it was implemented.

The legibility of notifications and the distortion of the image behind the squiggly, bubble-shaped app outline are among the most notable issues.

In a June 9 post, an X user commented, "The new liquid glass looks terrible and is a perfect example of focusing on form/prettiness/design over of functionality/readability/practicality like, what are we doing here?" Additionally, some have hypothesized that the late Steve Jobs, a co-founder of Apple, would not have approved the new design.

A user said, "Steve Jobs had very famously said that design was how it works, not how it looks...his thoughts on liquid glass would have been interesting," quoting the creator.
