Lenovo has launched new smart glasses under the Legion brand in China. A brighter screen is one of the major enhancements that the most recent eyewear offers over its predecessor. For your information, the Gen 2 AR glasses, which were introduced at CES 2025, have an 800 nit maximum brightness rating.
In contrast, the most recent addition has a peak brightness rating of 6,000 nits. The glasses most likely have Micro-OLED screens, even though Lenovo did not specify the type of panel. According to the company, these 120 Hz screens can provide an experience comparable to that of a professional-grade gaming monitor and have a DCI-P3 color coverage of 98%.
The internal 2D to 3D conversion technology is another feature that sets the new Legion AR Smart Glasses apart. Lenovo emphasizes that the technology works with a variety of devices, including gaming handhelds, and a large number of AAA games. In terms of sound configuration, the wearables have a "super linear dual-speaker" arrangement that is supposed to focus the sounds on the user's ears.
Other notable features include a large eyebox for a broader field of vision, support for magnetic lenses, adjustable nose pads, and a lightweight design weighing only 63 grams. Lenovo may introduce the new smart augmented reality wearables as Legion Glasses Gen 3 in the global market, with a launch price of CNY 2,499, or about $348, in China.
